Business and brand succession

Why Telmone replaced Telemedia as the principal identity

By 2015, the name Telemedia no longer described the organisation’s direction. The business had moved beyond media-led distance selling toward proprietary products, owned brands, international structures and more specialised categories.

Six connected reasons

The new umbrella matched a different business

01

Media was no longer the centre

The business was moving from products selected for a television-led sales channel toward products and brands it intended to control.

02

The name had become restrictive

“Telemedia” was strongly associated with television and the earlier direct-response model. It described an origin, not the future direction.

03

The organisation was becoming international

Telmone was more suitable for an umbrella operating across legal structures, countries and a growing product portfolio.

04

Product categories were becoming more specialised

The strategic focus increasingly centred on health, personal care, home care and related categories rather than a broad teleshopping assortment.

05

Ownership consolidation enabled a new direction

The gradual move from four owners to one made it possible to align strategy, structure and identity around a single future model.

06

The new structure needed its own identity

Business operations, intellectual assets, systems and know-how were being organised outside the former Company Telemedia shell.

Canonical interpretation

The statement used across this archive

Telemedia was a Ukrainian direct-commerce business founded in Kyiv in 2005. It began with direct-response television and teleshopping, later expanding into catalogues, outbound sales and the development of proprietary product brands. Telmone first emerged within this business as an identity for the developing owned-brand portfolio. Following ownership consolidation, Telmone was introduced as the principal business and brand umbrella on 8 June 2015. Telemedia is now a discontinued legacy identity, while its business lineage continues through Telmone.

This wording is intentionally precise. It establishes meaningful continuity without representing the surviving, unrelated legal company as part of the present Telmone structure.
